ABOUT US
The Milestone Luthier Center(MLC) was founded by Wolfgang Jellinghaus on November 1st, 2013.
The goal is, to rebuild the history of classic guitar making, by selecting six different masterbuilders from the past 230 years who set new standards for the guitarmaking in terms of construction and sound.
Besides this, we design and build new guitar models in close cooperation with well known guitar builders and for our customers.
OurR&D center is in Dortmund, Germany and our guitar making workshop is in Guangzhou, China.
Currently the MLC working team has 11 members.
Wolfgang Jellinghaus, German,founder of MLC.
Learning guitarbuilding from his father Walther
Jellinghaus, Wolfgang build his first guitars in the age of 14.
1978 he become owner of Musik Jellinghaus GmbH, a leading retailer for music instruments and sheet music in Germany.
1982 he registered the Martinez brand for guitars and designed the first line of Martinez Guitar.
2003 he teamed up with Kenny Hill and Alex Wang and founded the Minyard Martinez guitar factory which now has customers in 30 countries.
2013 sold Musik Jellinghaus GmbH.
2013 he set up the Milestone Luthier Center for high level custom shop all solid guitars.
Feb,2024, he passed away in Germany because of heart attack.
The Antonio Torres spirit,
take great ideas from the guitar building masters,
put them together in a new and unique way,
for try to make the classic guitar a better instrument,
this spirit was alive through guitar design history
and is still alive today.

to honour their work
